Ten Pin Brewing is a rapidly growing craft brewery in sunny Moses Lake, Washington. We are hiring immediately to fill positions at both our original 3 bbl brewpub and our brand new 30 barrel production brewery.
The Cellar Worker / Assistant Brewer reports to the Brewmaster and is responsible for assisting the Brewmaster with a variety of tasks throughout the brewery. A successful, experienced candidate can expect rapid promotion opportunities into roles such as Brewer or Cellar Manager. Less experienced candidate can expect excellent training on both large and small scale brewery operations in order to gain the experience needed for promotion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning and sanitizing the brewhouse, fermenters, bright tanks, and associated smaller equipment
Tracking the progress of fermentations and sheperding each batch through it’s various phases (primary fermentation, fruit additions, dry hopping, cold crashing, etc.)
Assisting with centrifuge operations and transferring beer to bright tanks
Assisting with carbonation, kegging, bottling, and canning
Learning to brew “Ten Pin style” by assisting the Brewmaster on both 3bbl and 30bbl batches
General housekeeping and maintenance throughout the brewery
Occasionally representing Ten Pin Brewing at beer festivals and events
Critical Skills and Abilities:
The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Work collaboratively as part of a small team.
Self motivated and capable of working independently to complete complex tasks
Capacity to manage multiple processes simultaneously in different areas of the brewery
A strong focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety
Ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures down to the finest detail
Certificate or degree in brewing or a related field (science, engineering) is preferred but not required.
Work experience in a brewery or food processing plant is preferred but not required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with proper use of PPE preferred
Understanding of the brewing process preferred
Forklift experience preferred
Willing to work various shifts as new roles are learned and production schedules change
Ability to repeatedly lift 55 lb bags
Positive attitude, friendly personality, and strong work ethic
Hourly pay based on experience (starting: $12-$15/hour)
